開始"噗"

Day 3, nothing new, just one article, since the new company enjoying plurk, seems a good way to record a bit thought for future use (another thing new company enjoy doing is "presentation with video or power point" sad...).

Day 2

So what happened to Day 1?

Well, the truth is there's the first day when we began the orientation course for a week, and there's the first day we finally began to do (and also to LEARN) the job we were hired for. And that reminds me how I began my previous job, trying to learn how to compose governmental documents (公文啦). I think the difficult thing is it is translating yet you can not just simply translate. I think that's why we are just JUNIOR editor now, we are inexperience, yet we have to learn how to translate and edit. Day 1 was a tough day, not just this learning process, but also adjusting the mindset, I guess that takes some time.

So Day 2, more strange news topics, and I finished one that's been used (yeah!), nothing I should be proud of, since it was heavily edited by senior staffs, and it wasn't anything serious (just a event press release kind of thing). But the vain part of me still feels good, at least I'm on the sort of right direction, "sort of" because it's more about different people's taste rather than there's a set of rules.

Day 3, here I come!

Do you know I dreamed about work?

Yeah, work!

My new job will begin mid-April, on a Friday, yes, a Friday. Tough actually, I applied it in late January, did written exam before CNY, got notified for Interview no.1 March the 1st, done Interview no.2 mid March, then a week later got hired. I've even done handing in all things required for the job, and that was 3 weeks ago.....

One week to go, now I'm not even sure if I really did get the job yet, since i hear nothing from them. I don't even know my working hours, only been told it will all be revealed on the first day at work...... as to when I should show up on the first day, "I'll be notified later."

So the other night, I dreamed about I'm working already, one thing not so good about the job i see so far is no cubicles in the office, everyone sits side by side at a lines of desks, with two lines facing each other as a row (am I telling this right?). Anyway, no cubicle, lot less privacy or private space, oh, the dream, all I can recall now is I sit at the desk, and I began to wonder: I begin working already?

Well, maybe it's I'm out of full time job for 27 months, and I'm bit desperate already, part of that is also due to I'm low on cash......

So back to the TV part, lot less TV hour for sure, I'll manage, perhaps more hard disks? the price is down again! well some BBC fun here: (click to play)

Oh, about my new job, I'm gonna be a news editor, totally new stuff for me, a lot to learn ahead, probably another reason I'm so eager to start early. Gonna read a lot of local news now though, at least I'm close to be a target audience: kind of a semi foreigner in Taiwan myself, since I rarely read local news, unless it's tech or entertainment. Politics or social issues are boring, that's why I keep them in a distance, and now I feel distant in Taiwan, watching a lot of BBC, CNN and CNBC just makes the situation more extreme. Anyway, not only me are looking forward to this, lots of people are wondering what the job is about, maybe this will be the way to keep this blog going? What do you think?

Sian: and the role, you have to spent quite a lot of time in a bin, all the time in the bin, which isn't the most glamorous kind of role, is it?
Miriam: I don't get the glamorous part, I'm not that sort, but that's all right.

Miriam: I don't like childrean very much but they (cast of Harry Potter) really were sweet.
Bil: You don't like children very much? /Sian: They are not children anymore.
Miriam: Not very much, no.
Bill: How much? I mean, in a sense, what... do they annoy... do they make too much noise?
Miriam: They make too much noise and they take attention away from me, and that's unforgivable. I mean, it was bad enough being told there were lots of people today on your program, I thought it was all about me and it's not.

Miriam: I don't mind people earning lots of money, I just want to do it too!

2 shows at once

Being Human
